Life

Last weekend, we were four friends riding together, setting out on a journey that I'll remember forever — one filled with nature, conversations, spirituality, and discovery. Early in the morning, with the cool breeze brushing against our faces, the four of us began our ride toward Madheshwar Temple.

Early morning ride through the scenic hills

The road wound beautifully around the hills, each turn opening to fresh views of green valleys. As we four friends rode deeper into the forested path, nature itself greeted us — and the highlight was spotting a peacock dancing gracefully amidst the trees. Its feathers shimmering in the morning light felt like a blessing for our ride. Along the way, we heard the sweet chirping of birds, a natural symphony that made the air feel even fresher. Breathing in the scent of dew-kissed leaves and wildflowers was so refreshing — a perfect start to the day.

Our ride took nearly four hours, but we hardly noticed the time passing because the four of us were lost in laughter, conversations, and that sense of freedom you only feel when you're on the road with close friends.

When we finally reached the Madheshwar Temple, the atmosphere shifted. The place was alive with energy and filled with devotees. We four members joined the long queue, patiently waiting for over an hour and a half, but the moment we entered the inner sanctum, all the wait felt worth it. Inside, the black stone chamber lit by the sacred flame created an aura that was both powerful and peaceful. Standing there, I felt my stress melt away — as if the fire burned away all worries and left only calmness.

After darshan, the four of us headed out for brunch. Nothing could be more comforting than a plate of crispy dosa and hot vadas. We also picked up some sweets for our families — because bringing blessings (and sweets!) back home is part of the joy.

The Unexpected Discovery

Just when we thought the day couldn't get better, Instagram gave us a surprise — we came across a post about Dondenling, a Tibetan settlement in Karnataka. Curiosity got the best of us, and together, the four of us decided to check it out.

Walking into the Tibetan monastery was like entering another world. The architecture was breathtaking — vibrant colors, intricate carvings, and the aura of silence. Inside, monks sat together, reading and chanting with deep focus. Their calmness, patience, and discipline left us in awe. For the first time in my life, I stood before a 110-feet tall Buddha statue, and it felt surreal. The sheer scale and beauty of it, combined with the peaceful surroundings, made us all fall in love with the place instantly.

The Journey Home

By evening, the four of us began our ride back home. This time, we chose the Burgur forest route, and oh, what a choice it was! The road was surrounded by lush greenery, fresh mountain air, and the quiet of the forest. Along the way, nature gifted us more surprises — we spotted elephants, monkeys, deer, and even a mongoose. It felt like riding through a living jungle documentary.

After another four hours of riding, we stumbled upon our favorite restaurant. Hungry and tired, the four of us enjoyed a hearty dinner — the kind that tastes even better after a long ride. With full stomachs and happier hearts, we rode for two more hours under the night sky until we finally reached home.

"This wasn't just a trip — it was an experience of togetherness, spirituality, and adventure. From the dancing peacock to the divine temple flame, from Tibetan chants to wild elephants, every moment of this journey felt alive and meaningful."

I loved every bit of it, and I can't wait for the next ride with my friends. Because sometimes, the road gives you more than just destinations — it gives you memories that stay with you forever. 🚴‍♂️✨
